Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • All submissions must meet the following requirements.

    • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
    • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
    • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
    • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
    • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Author Guidelines

The KLISC Journal of Information Science and Knowledge Management (KLISC JISKM) accepts manuscripts in English. All submissions are assessed by an editor for fit with the journal's aims and scope. Suitable manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process.

1. Submission Policies

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts must not have been published elsewhere or be under consideration by any other journal. All submissions are screened for plagiarism using iThenticate at desk review and again after revision.

  • Authorship: All listed authors must have made a significant intellectual contribution to the work and must consent to being identified as an author. The corresponding author is responsible for securing this consent and for all communications with the journal.

  • Data Policy: Authors are strongly encouraged to deposit the data supporting their findings in a recognized public repository and to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript.

  • Ethics and Consent: Research involving human subjects or animals must have received approval from an appropriate ethics committee. Authors must include a statement of ethical approval within the manuscript and are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any third-party material (e.g., photos, datasets).

  • Conflicts of Interest: All authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional interests that could be construed as influencing the work. A statement declaring no conflicts of interest (or detailing any) is required.

  • Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Authors must disclose the use of any AI tools or large language models in the research or writing process, including in the generation of text, images, or data analysis. Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted.

  • Appeals and Complaints: Authors who wish to appeal a decision or raise a complaint should contact the Chief Editor with a detailed justification. All appeals will be handled in accordance with the journal's formal complaints procedure, which follows COPE guidelines.

2. Post-Publication

  • Corrections and Retractions: The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record. Any errors or ethical issues identified after publication will be addressed promptly via a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, in line with COPE guidelines.

3. Manuscript Preparation

  • Structure: A complete original article must include: title page, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, acknowledgements, and references.

  • Format: 4000-6000 words, single-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman, in MS Word.

  • Title Page: Include a concise title, full names of all authors, affiliations, email addresses, and telephone contacts. Clearly indicate the corresponding author.

  • Abstract: Maximum 300 words, summarizing the introduction, objective, problem, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.

  • Keywords: Provide four to six keywords for indexing.

  • References: Follow the APA 7th Edition style, listing all references alphabetically.

4. Peer Review Process
KLISC JISKM follows a double-blind review process to ensure impartiality. Each submission is assigned to 2-3 expert reviewers who are asked to complete their evaluation within four weeks. The Chief Editor makes the final editorial decision based on the reviewers' recommendations.

The names and email addresses provided in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be shared with any other party.

  1. Articles

    All manuscripts submitted to the KLISC Journal of Information Science and Knowledge Management (KLISC JISKM) are accepted for consideration on the understanding that their content has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration by any other journal. The articles will be subjected to double-blind peer review before they are accepted for publishing. Manuscripts submitted to the journal should be prepared according to the instructions provided below.

    • A complete original article must include the following: title page, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, acknowledgements, and references
    • Each full paper should have (4000-6000) words, single-spaced, font size 12, Times New Roman and MS Word typesetting
    • Tables and figures should be inserted near where they are first cited
    • The title page should contain a concise title, names of the author(s), affiliation(s), e-mail and telephone contacts. The corresponding author and email address must be indicated.
    • The abstract should not exceed 300 words and should highlight the introduction, objective, problem, methodology, key findings, discussion, conclusions, recommendations,
    • Four to six keywords should be provided for indexing purposes
    • All references listed should be cited appropriately in the text.
    • Manuscripts submitted to the journal are subjected to anti-plagiarism test. Authors are advised to check their articles for plagiarism before submission.
    • All references cited in the text should be listed alphabetically, following the APA 7th Edition style.

    Peer Review Process

    KLISC JISKM is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that maintains high standards and only accepts original research papers after they have undergone a thorough peer-review process conducted by subject experts.

    KLISC JISKM adopts a double-blind peer review for manuscripts submitted to the journal.  In this regard, the identity of both the authors and the reviewer and their affiliation details are kept anonymous to avoid biases and maintain quality. Each new submission is assigned to 2-3 peer reviewers. The reviewers are asked to complete the review process within four weeks and submit their report to the Chief Editor who then makes editorial decisions to be conveyed to the authors based on the peer reviewers' recommendations.
